This website was conceived as a reference for all songs ever
performed by Marillion, intending to catalogue and compare their different
versions, both live and in the studio.
It was created and is mantained by myself, and has as big
inspirarion the
A
to Z of Genesis Songs website, created by
Martin Dean.
It is in permanent updating, and new sections will be added
in a near future.
The author cannot guarantee 100% correctness of the material,
and all inaccuracies should be reported to this
address.
I hope you enjoy it, and feel free to colaborate in order
to make this site better!

I would like to credit my main sources, when they were not
my own Marillion collection.
- Bert ter Steege's discography website was the source for
the details from all officially realeased material I don't own.
- Andre Kreutzmann and Thomas Spitzer website, again Bert
ter Steege's discography, and marillion.com for the information on Marillion
setlists through the times, useful to identify the songs according to the
tours in which they were performed.
For each song, the information tries to be as complete as
possible. Here's some explanations on some of the decisions taken on their
description.
Production, writing and copyright information are always taken
from Marillion album and singles liner notes, except for the unreleased songs.
For these ones, when possible, information was taken from interviews.
Song versions, follow, as far as possible the names from the
Marillion releases. Sometimes different names were merged together (ex: 7"
mix and single edit) in case they were the same.
Times for the same version follow the first release of the
song version in CD, when there is one. For the same version real playing times are sometimes different. This happens because different releases include different silence times counting as part of the track (studio
tracks) or different editing of the applauses (live versions). That was not considered to make releases
qualify as different versions. Times are as my cd player reads them, they
might be different in other cd players, or were taken from Bert ter Steege's discography
website (for the vinyls, and the material I don't own). In the case of the
video material, times are those of the DVD version in case there is one.
The splitting of live versions according to tour is sometimes
subjective. Tour names were in some cases decided by me, and aim at separating
different versions of the same songs, whose descripton will eventually be
added later in this website.
