Not that I was exactly an unconditional fan, but I had a few beers to drink, so I supposed I could bare with them. Yes, I'm speaking about Marillion, a group that, for the delight of many, performed in the Aqualua, a bar in the Aquaparque in Restelo, on the 29th of July. The bar, Radio Cidade and Valentim de Carvalho, all together brought Marillion to a public of about a few thousand. Although without Fish, they were Marillion.
At the entrance, we had to show the invitation (it was a very controlled thing) which caused some spicy casual carnal encounters. If the forest that surrounded the place could speak it would have a lot to tell. The atmosphere was basically composed of youngsters (what happened to the women of my days, did they all got married?), so they are the ones that after a drink or two play the blind goat in hiding, and before they know it, the girls are already wearing on of those products announced on TV, that somehow, "you don't even realize you're wearing it".

Well, but I wanted, besides speaking about the bar that got over last year concept that, as a lot of people still recalls, was an Arabic one... Hey, wait a moment! Marillion started playing, I think it's. "No One Can", I don't know what the guy means by that, but had he that little rubber we offered two weeks ago, he certainly could. I'm joking folks, they are quite easy to bare, I admit that I had to swallow a handful of beers, but what the hell, if it wasn't the alcohol heating me up, they wouldn't do it (by the way, my chick was on vacation). They started singing "Kayleigh" and I admit that I actually preferred this version to the one sung by little fish. It was so beautiful to watch those youngsters struggling for a spot closer to the stage (at least they could grab a bottle or two) singing out of tune (such was the drunkness!) Kayleighhh... I head off to the balcony and, if it wasn't for my friend, I would still today be waiting for that nice little beer I was promised in my invitation.

Hallucinating screams echoed from the stage. There was a guy with a brasilian accent asking everyone to sing happy birthday. The little Marillions, poor guys, didn't understand a word of it, not even knowing how to wish everybody a good night. Although they didn't understand anything, they did however appreciate the young girls given to them as a 10th anniversary gift given by Radio Cidade. The concert was over, the beer was over, and I'm off too, see you next week. Oh! I was almost forgetting, I enjoyed listening to "Sympathy", it was nice of them.
