DVD - Live in Montreal

Marillion released the 3-DVD "Live in Montreal", featuring the 3 nights from Marillion Weekend 2009 in Montreal.

Disc 1 features the whole of the 1989 album 'Seasons End' plus 5 tracks from 2008's 'Happiness Is The Road'. The audio from this night is also available on the Racket Records CD "Live in Montreal / Friday".

Disc 2 includes all the songs from the Saturday night set counting down the years from 2008 - 1981. The audio from this night is also available on the Racket Records CD "Live in Montreal / Saturday".

Disc 3 features all the long songs from the Sunday night 'Shortest Setlist in The World'. The audio from this night is also available on the Racket Records CD "Live in Montreal / Sunday".

Pete Trewavas - Acoustic Industry

There's a new EP featuring a project by Pete Trewavas and Robin Boult, titled "Acoustic Industry".

Pete and Robin played live on the Marillion Weekend 2009 and 2011, intoducing their material on two guitars.

Shows 2011

After the several Marillion Weekend, Marillion will be touring in the second half of 2011.

Summer Festivals:
So far the only scheduled festival is Herzberg Festival, in Fulda, Germany, on July 16.

Marillion & Saga:
Marillion will share a tour of Germany and switzerland with the band Saga. Each band will headline in half the shows.

Digressão de Natal:
There are also some schedules Christmas concerts in November and December, in England and Holland.

As it was previously announced, Marillion's performance at the High Voltage Festival will be released in CD.

Please beware that this CD is a limited edition by festival organizers and can only be bought at some online stores. It isn't available at Marillion's website.

At the same time Marillion have made available for download their performances at the "Legends of Rock" Festival, in Poland, and their Leamington show, both from July 2010.

EMI releases a new singles collection

Once again EMI releases a singles collection, this time as a 3CD set titled "The Singles '82-'88", gathering all singles released during the Fish era.

This release repeats the Fish-era Singles boxset from 2000 with a similar name, but this time, instead of individual discs for each original single with original artwork, we get a simple 3CD jewelcase, containing A and B sides, plus several live tracks.

Steve Hogarth has released the live album "Natural Selection", containing songs from his 2006 H Natural tour. According to the singer, it's a collection of his favourite moments from that tour.

Transatlantic live

Transatlantic will be playing live supporting their new album "The Whirlwind". This tour, featuring the bassist Pete Trewavas, has 6 April shows in the American continent, followed by 16 more in Europe in May.

The tour will have a further date later in July in the High Voltage Festival, where Marillion will also be present.

Marillion have announced their 2011 edition of the Marillion Weekend, repeating the formats and venues from 2009.

Dates will be: March 25-28, at Center Parcs, Port Zélande, in Holland; and April 8-10, at L'Olympia, Montreal, in Canadá.

Garden Party - The Web Portugal's 4th Anniversary

The Web Portugal celebrates its fourth anniversary with another Garden Party, open to all Marillion fans, their families and friends.

The party will take place on May 15th, in Alfama, Lisbon, at Sociedade Boa União. Once again it's a full to meet other Marillion fans, participating in our typical barbeque, contests, and live music, this year with the bands Harvey Project and Passing Strangers (Portuguese Marillion covers band).

Tickets are € 15,00 for Web members , and € 17,50 for the general atendees (to note that this price is valid only for payments confirmed until Mat 7, after which the price becomes € 20,00). Children up to 12 years old have free admitance. Food and drinks are free inside the venue.

Live Boxset from the H era - 'The Official Bootleg Box Volume 2'

After the celebrated release of "Early Stages", comprising the CD edition of live official bootlegs from the Marillion Fish-era, it's now the time for EMI's release of a second boxset dedicated to the live shows of the H-era, titled "The Official Bootleg Box Volume 2".

This 8-disc collectors box contains 8 individually packaged CDs covering a range of live shows from 1990-1994.
The first 1000 copies of the Official Bootleg Box Volume 2 sold at Racket Records will also receive a FREE Signed A4 print. The release is scheduled for late April

Transatlantic - 'The Whirlwind'

The newest album by Transatlantic (Pete Trewavas' side project) named The Whirlwind is already available. It's the band's third studio album, and it includes a single suite, 77 minutes long. Less Is More

Marillion anounced that "Less Is More" is the name of their acoustic album to be released in the Autumn, that will be promoted live later in the year.

The first live dates were already announced. Other will soon follow. Please see the official website for further details.

New EMI releases

EMI revealed the complete tracklistings to the three new double CD's to be released on June 22nd.

"Recital of the Script" is the first time the complete concert has been released in audio format. It includes a previously unreleased track: "Three Boats Down From The Candy". The version of "Charting The Single" from the gig was previously issued as a b-side to the "Garden Party" 12", but was not featured on the original DVD version.

"Live from Loreley" is the first time the complete concert has been released in audio format. It includes four previously unreleased tracks: "White Russian", "Fugazi", "Garden Party" and "Market Square Heroes", not featured in the original DVD version.

"The Thieving Magpie" reissue of the 1988 live double CD.

All releases were approved by the band, and feature new liner notes written especially for these releases by Fish.

New EMI releases

Following the success of the "Early Stages" live boxset, EMI has decided to release in CD format the live concerts previously released in DVD as "Recital of the Script" (from 1983) and "Live from Loreley" (from 1987).

The releases are scheduled for May.

Transatlantic

It was officially announced that Neal Morse, Roine Stolt, Mike Portnoy and Pete Trewavas are working together again, in order to record the third Transatlantic studio album.

After the albums SMTPe (2000) and Bridge Across Forever (2001) Transatlantic stopped due to Neal Morse's need to rejoin christianity. The new album is scheduled for late 2009.

Marillion Weekend 2009

The Marillion Weekend 2009 will take place on March 20-23, in Port Zélande, The Netherlands.

This time Marillion announced only the program for the first night, dedicated to the complete performance of the album "Seasons End", celebrating this year its twentieth anniversary.

The announced support acts are: Toby Sebastien, Andrew Morris, The Wishing Tree, Anne-Marie Helder, A Genuine Freakshow and The Reasoning.

This will be the biggest Web Portugal participation ever in a Marillion Weekend, comprising 20 people.

This year the Marillion Weekend will have a second edition, in Montreal, Canada, on April 3-5.

New album by "The Wishing Tree"

"Ostara" is the name of the new album of Steve Rothery and Hannah Stobart's band, succeding "Carnival Of Souls" from 1996. It was announced the "warm-up" concert for Março 16 in Pendley Court Theatre, near Tring, in the outskirts of London. The Wishing Tree will also be in the Marillion Weekend, in The Netherlands, playing on March 21st.

Summer concerts and... acoustic tour

Besides the Marillion Weekend 2009, the only confirmed Marillion concerts for 2009 are the participation in the "Sweden Rock Festival" on June 5, in Sölvesborg, Sweden; and the Sofia concert, in Bulgária on June 13 (a concert postponed from February 21).

There is, although, the confirmation of an acoustic tour in late 2009. This far there are no confirmed dates or venues..

"Happiness Is The Road" in the Portuguese retail stores

Unlike what had been previously announced, the latest Marillion CD "Happiness Is The Road" is now available in retail shops all over Europe.

It's a an edition in a slim double jewelcase, containing both CD's, with a slightly modified cover. This edition can already be found in the Portuguese stores.

"Pudding On The Ritz" - The new Christmas CD

The new Christmas CD de Natal for the Web members is the 10th anniversary edition. Besides the usual Christmas song, there's also new music, made of "Happiness Is The Road" outtakes.

New Web Portugal Fanzine

Issue 6 (2008/2) of the "MARILLIONADOS" Fanzine, was shipped to the WEB PORTUGAL subscribers in December 2008, along with the Marillion Christmas CD "Pudding On The Ritz".

This issue is especially dedicated to "Happiness Is The Road", including reviews, and explanations by Marillion members. There are also articles about Lisbon Calling and the H Natural concerts in Portugal.

Mick Pointer & Friends - Script For A Jester's Tour

Mick Pointer will again gather his friends to relive the "Script For A Jester's Tour" experience. The tribute band that celebrates Marillion's debut album will play 22 concerts in early 2009. The musicians are: Mick Pointer (Arena, and ex-Marillion), Nick Barrett (Pendragon), Mike Varty (Credo), Ian Salmon (Arena) and Brian Cummings (Carpet Crawlers).

"Early Stages"

EMI released on November 17 a boxset containing 6 discs, with five Marillion concerts from the Fish era, comprising from 1982 to 1987. The core of this collection are recently availabe BBC recordings, with additional EMI material. The boxset includes exclusive texts by Fish and Mark Wilkinson illustrations. "Happiness Is The Road" - Listening Party in Almada

The Web Portugal presents on October 30, a Listening Party in Almada so that Marillion fans may listen to "Happiness Is The Road".

The Listening Party will take place in the Acercadanoite Bar. Along with the complete audition of Marillion's newest album, there will be projected Marillion videos, followed by the performance of a live covers project.

For the first time in Portugal there will also be CD's "Happiness Is The Road" for sale.

"Crash Course" - New edition

There is a new edition of the known Marillion sampler "Crash Course", including songs from the most recent album and, as always, introduducing the latest Marillion albums.

"Happiness On The Road" - Download Series

Marillion announced that, for the first time in their history, all concerts of their current tour ("Happiness On The Road") will be recorded in order to be sold. Each concert will be available for download on the band's website the day after it was played.

For the London concert on November 19, a CD with the show will be sold right after the show. This CD will have a limited edition of 1000 copies.

"Happiness Is The Road" released

Marillion's fifteenth studio album "Happiness is the Road" started to be shipped on October 15, to those who pre-ordered it. Besides the Deluxe edition, the jewelcase edition (2 separate CD's) is now available at the band's website.

This time Marillion were the ones responsible for its leaking to the download websites. It was a planned marketing strategy, with the goal of driving people to Marillion's website.

EMI is about to release a 6 discs Boxset, containing five Marillion concerts, recorded between 1982 e 1987, recently licenced by BBC, and never previously officially released.

The concerts are:
Live at the Mayfair, Glasgow - 13 September 1982
Live at the Marquee, London - 30 December 1982
Live at Reading Festival - 27 August 1983
Live at Hammersmith Odeon - 14 December 1984
Live at Wembley Arena - 5 November 1987

The release is scheduled for November 17, and the artwork is by Mak Wilkinson.

"Naked In The Chapel" is Steve Hogarth's newset live DVD, available in the end of August.

This DVD is the recording of the H Natural concert in 22 September 2007 at the Union Chapel in Islington, London.

The tracklist is: The Hollow Man / Three Minute Boy / House / Life on Mars / Beyond You / Afraid of Sunlight / A Collection / Cage / The Party / When I Meet God / No One Can / War Baby / Man of the World / Maybe I'm Amazed / In the Ghetto / Famous Blue Raincoat / Cover My Eyes / Fantastic Place. The festival took place on the 26th of July in Pavilhão Atlântico, Lisbon, and besides Marillion it included the bands: The Stranglers, B52's e Meat Loaf.

Marillion were the opening act performing a short set with the songs: You're Gone / The Other Half / Beautiful / Easter / Afraid Of Sunlight / No One Can / Cover My Eyes / King / Neverland.

News about Marillion Weekend 2009.

Marillion announced that the first evening of the Marillion Weekend 2009 (March 20-23, 2009 in The Netherlands, and April 3-5, 2009 in Canada) will consist of the full performance of the Seasons End album, thus celebrating its twentieth anniversary.

It was also announced that on that night, after the concert, there will take place two separate disco-nights. On one side there will be the rock-night, with DJ Lucy Jordache; on the other the prog-night, with DJ Stephanie Bradley.

The cover was designed by the Spanish artist Antonio Seijas, but it's not known yet if it will be common to both separate editions "Essence" and "The Hard Shoulder".
